She stands staring silently seaward searching ceaselessly for her lost love. Drowned in a voyage to find her sea-claimed spouse, only her sorrowing statue remains, worshiped by Sihanoukville bound travellers. No solace in the fragrant incense or bountiful fruits offered by the faithful hoping for protection from life’s cruel blows.
A happy future?

She sat, reflecting on her chosen life. A new youth. No more cold European winters with bone aching aging. No! For her warm sun, a blue sky and a hot blooded young love. What price this extended youth? Two co-wives as friends. Not too high a price. A good decision.
The car mechanic’s dog
Posted by: | CommentsOn a busy pavement in Phnom Penh sits a grubby long haired mutt. We are sure he is the mechanic's dog because he looks just like a greasy rag. He lies curled up waiting to be needed to clean a carburetter or wipe up some spilt oil. Relaxed and unworried by the explosions of tyres being removed, he jumps up only when an unexpected pedestrian strolls by.
